Kimberly Sanderson - Former Sales Leader Turned Network Marketing Mom Extraordinaire

Since starting the Mompreneur Next Door, I have met so many incredible, inspirational moms who are doing what many of you want to do - be home with your kids and make money. It's been my great privilege to highlight and showcase these moms in order to help those of you reading know that you're not alone and that there are other moms doing what you aspire to do. My hope is that you find encouragement and commonalities with their stories so that you, too, have the courage to go out and get what you want in life, as a woman and as a mom.

This week I had the privilege and honor of interviewing Kimberly Sanderson. This friendly, outgoing mom of 2 was living the corporate dream, one she thought she always wanted. Her job was great, her boss was amazing, she was challenged and loved what she was doing. The problem was her sweet babies were growing up, and she felt like she was missing out on that time with them. Kimberly wanted that as well but craved professional engagement, too.

When Kimberly learned about a work-from-home opportunity, she knew she couldn't let it pass her by. With consumable health and wellness products that she loved and what she saw as an incredible compensation plan, Kimberly was beyond excited and hopped on board. When she started, Kimberly worked her business around her full-time job and family life but realized that she could make a greater impact with her work-from-home business so she made the decision to leave corporate.

Of course there have been struggles - it's not always easy working from home as any Mompreneur knows. But for Kimberly, it was been well worth it. She is able to be the mom she wants to be and make the money she and her family want and need not only today but for the future because as with many at-home business opportunities, Kimberly's offers residual and passive income as well. For her, truly the best part is that she loves what she does and loves helping offer other parents the same opportunities to take care of their physical and financial health and well being.

Kimberly believes that anyone can be successful in network marketing if you truly work the business rather than treat it like a hobby. As she says, "It's about your goals being bigger than your excuses." For more on how she built an incredible business, her challenges and her recommendations, check out the video interview. It's truly inspirational and well worth your time! Keep believing in you and know that there is a tribe of women out there cheering you on!

Hey, Mom! Has Anyone Told You You're Doing A Great Job?

I was recently traveling alone with my three kids, and since they're tween/teens, this does not seem like such a Herculean effort as it did a few years ago. As we were exiting the shuttle from the rental car place to the airport, a guy looked at me and said "Hey, Mom! Has anyone told you lately you're doing a great job?" My face lit up, I felt a huge glow inside and thanked him profusely. He may as well have told me I had won the lottery.😁 This got me to thinking, why was this such a big deal? Probably for the one truth that most moms I know live. We think we suck at this parenting thing every single day. We beat ourselves up for every little thing. We read social media and play the compare game. We are not enough insert whatever crapola thing comes to our mind or is hot in the media at any given moment. And here's what the truth looks like. Most of us are doing a pretty amazing job. Our kids are loved, fed, clothed and housed. They feel secure enough to ha...

Sunday Burquest, She Is Grit Girl

Some times you meet people, and they tell you your story and you can hardly believe it. How can they be real people, people you actually are speaking with, not someone in the movies. This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing that someone - Sunday Burquest, a survivor in many ways. Sunday's story starts well before she survived two truly life-changing experiences. She was a busy mom of four working alongside her husband in his ministry work. That all changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This came shortly after her husband almost died and several close family members had passed away, so it was a very dark time for her and led to depression and anxiety. Her son encouraged her to do her own thing and move forward, something which she had thought about for years. But it had never been the right time, she was worried about money and frankly if she could succeed. Sound familiar? I think many of us wanting to go out on our own grapple with similar inner voices. So aft...

Do You Believe In You?

Do you believe in you? This is a tough question. As moms, we continuously encourage our kids to do and be their best and believe that they can do whatever they want. But we are not great at modeling this. Think about it. Would you speak to your best friend the way you speak to yourself? What would you say to someone who spoke to your children using those words? Ever since I was young, my parents lifted me up - each and every day. They told me that I could do and be whatever I wanted, and I believed them. After years of being a mom while working in corporate America, I was starting to lose that belief in myself. Was it possible to do it all, have it all? For me this meant flexibility to be the mom I wanted to be in an intellectually-stimulating environment with continuous growth potential in a supportive environment. Was this possible? I didn't want to give up hope because if I was looking for this, I was guessing that other moms were, too. There had to be something out there for me...
