Kimberly Sanderson - Former Sales Leader Turned Network Marketing Mom Extraordinaire

Since starting the Mompreneur Next Door, I have met so many incredible, inspirational moms who are doing what many of you want to do - be home with your kids and make money. It's been my great privilege to highlight and showcase these moms in order to help those of you reading know that you're not alone and that there are other moms doing what you aspire to do. My hope is that you find encouragement and commonalities with their stories so that you, too, have the courage to go out and get what you want in life, as a woman and as a mom. This week I had the privilege and honor of interviewing Kimberly Sanderson. This friendly, outgoing mom of 2 was living the corporate dream, one she thought she always wanted. Her job was great, her boss was amazing, she was challenged and loved what she was doing. The problem was her sweet babies were growing up, and she felt like she was missing out on that time with them. Kimberly wanted that as well but craved professional engagement, too.

Maegan Haney - Physical Therapist Assistant, Mom of 3, Wife Turned Mompreneur

This week I featured Maegan Haney on the Mompreneur Next Door interview platform, and I'm so excited to share a little bit more about her here. This is the second interview I have done, and the outpouring of support and excitement around this platform has been incredible! I remember when I was thinking about starting a business and not knowing what to do, who to talk to, where to turn. I knew I wanted to be with my kids and make money, but from there I had no direction. If you feel similarly, Mompreneur Next Door is for you, and hopefully some of you will resonate with Maegan's story this week and past and future ones of other moms who may be just like you, and how they managed to build a business alongside motherhood and family life. Maegan was a mom of 2 and a Physical Therapist Assistant by trade when she started her Mompreneur business and for her, it was all about options to have time and financial freedom. As she said, "I've never been a fan of having to wor

Jen Emslander - Nurse Turned Mompreneur Turned Intrapreneur Extroardinaire

Last week was an exciting one because I hosted my inaugural interview on my Facebook page entitled (yes, you guessed it) "Mompreneur Next Door." I chose Jen Emslander because this beautiful, intelligent, fun and funny wife and mom of 3 and I originally connected on LinkedIn, and after a wonderful conversation on the phone, a new idea for my blog was formed - why not highlight other moms on this journey to support and inspire us all. And why not start with Jen? Jen was working as a nurse, married to an incredible man, living in Minnesota, and raising her three young children before she started her journey as a mompreneur. She and her husband were basically passing each other with the high-five hand off of their kids, losing touch with themselves and each other, and she knew something had to change. Sound familiar? When our kids are little, I think many of us have similar challenges. Listening to Jen's story, I got transported back to those challenging times in my li

Being A Mom Sucks

Mothering Wild Blog has another great post about this! No one ever tells you this before you are a mom. Or maybe they do and we don't hear it. I honestly cannot remember. What I do remember is being pregnant with my first and being so excited. And then as my due date got closer, I was terrified about absolutely everything - giving birth, sleeping, living, functioning. Add in the absolutely horrifying feelings I had about taking care of another human and the list was infinitesimal. Of course I figured things out but life with a newborn was so hard! And the worst part was it seemed like every other mom but me had it figured out. The picture-perfect vision of moms with their newborns not crying was all I had in my head and that was not my reality. My highlight real was my baby crying, me frazzled, poopy diapers, spit up, my hair pulled back, ten extra pounds, nothing glamorous. So when my eldest was a few months old, I went to visit my family in WI and got one of the greatest
